| I am going to get this thread back on track with my latest Joker FML.
This is proof positive I should not be allowed to roam unchaperoned in my day to day activities!
While running errands late yesterday (approx 8 pm) I am stopped outside of a nearby grocery store by a woman asking directions. I explain how to get there and she asks if it approximately 2 blocks or so, since she has to walk. I tell her no, its more like 5 miles. She breaks down crying and I quickly learn she is the victim of domestic violence, is 16 weeks pregnant and is stranded about an hour from home. (She lives in Chicago)
Her local destination is Catholic Charities, where she wants to get assistance or a train voucher to get home. I offer to take her the 5 miles down the road, as long as we can stop and get gas first. (I am notorious for running out of gas and had pushed my luck for 2 days already)
When this woman gets in my the car I briefly have the thought, what if this woman pulls a knife or gun on me? What if these are the last few minutes of my life? But I quickly dismiss the thought.
At the gas station, I hand her my cellphone to call Catholic Charities to let them know we are on our way. I then go get gas and pay.
She is distraught talking on the phone because she is told, no one can help her and the earliest appointment she can get at Catholic Charities is 2 days from then. She also mentions my cell phone rang when she was using it. (Evil was waiting for me to pick him up to go get pizza)
Imagine Evils surprise when I pull up at our place with a stranger in the car!! He hops in the backseat and I tell him, we are helping this person in need. Because she cannot find any assistance anywhere I make the decision to take her to the train station and pay her fare home.
So we go to the station and I pull out 20 dollars for her to go home. (I remember overhearing her say on the phone she needs 14.70 to take 2 trains)
As I hand her the money and tell her I will sleep better knowing she has made it home safely she tells me that the fare for the trains plus a bus will actually be $21.85 yeah..$22.00 no better make that $23.00 to be on the safe side!
So I get out 3 more dollars and then thats when she asks for an additional 2 so she can get a drink and some chips from the vending machine because she is so hungry............That's when the lightbulb goes off that I am probably being scammed. But I want to believe in the goodness in people, so I tell her I will pray that the angels keep her and her her baby safe. She hugs me and I tell myself that if I was scammed, at least I know I was acting in good faith to help someone I believed to be in a dire situation. (I would hope if I was ever in need the kindness of strangers would come to my rescue if need be.)
Well this morning, in the bright light of day...I discover that while I was getting gas and she sat alone in my car, she "helped" herself to all of the coins I keep in my cupholder so I can pay the tolls as I go to and from work.
and YES...Everyone I have told this story too agrees she was a con artist, I was scammed and I am a big giant SUCKER!

| PS after discovering she stole my coins, I prayed for her again. I prayed that she would soon realize the error in her ways.
I am also bummed because chances are she used my money to go get heroin or crack.

| Actually, I am glad for you, Pam.
I believe that such a reaction shows you that you are a better person.
So, it's a win-win for you, even if you've being scammed. And it's definitely not a FML.

| OMG what a story pam!! This just shows you are a good person and willing to help a person in need. I too, always see the best in people. But fact is there are a lot of bad people out there ready to scam you And next time when a person is in real need and asks you, you will turn her/him down, just because there are these bad persons out there... | |

| Keep blades away from Mari! And Mari you know you have to move your body parts before cutting any object. You might have gotten away with it to if it weren't for that damn leg always getting in the way. | |

| poo!! my highly anticipated first boot purchase made online came to my house today. Unfortunately, I ordered half a size smaller (because normally they are half a size smaller), it's TOO SMALL. I can't fit my left foot in. >< well, I could but I need to force it in and wear slippery socks. (Goodness, do I have ONE big foot?!) hahaha!! Sad....... I don't want to return them, it's a hassle. >< maybe I'll ask a shoe-repair shop if it's possible to stretch them O_o but they'd have to stretch a WHOLE LOT since I can't even get into them >< | |

| @Von I think he can but to a limit. Good Luck with your first Boots. sniff sniff, Von is growing up right before our eyes.
Speaking of knifes I love knifes. All kinds of knife, the bigger the better. Soon I will get a meat cleaver. Had one when I was little, and I think about it sometimes. The only thing better then Knifes are swords. I would collect them if I didn't have other things I like to collect.
But I do have hates about knifes, yes it's annoying when someone plays with a knife as if their some kind of professional. Trying to look all dangerous, just wait until the person your playing with make an unexpected move, and you cut them wrong. Even though there isn't a right way to cut. Oooo wait for my next FML!!
And sometimes I get made when anybody puts a knife in the sink that full of water, so when I reach in to finish the dishes and I feel that familiar feeling of sharpness. I slow down reach for it and complain about it to the person who put it there. One day someone gonna cut them selves bad.

| This is not a FML but more of a FML for someone else.
In high school I hung out at this dudes house who was Uber popular (Friend #1). So everyone hung there. And in this large group of friends there was this guy who was kind of annoying (sort of friend #2) . And one day #2 found #1's Machete. A dull Machete cause his parents were responsible. And he would grab the Machete and pretend to cut himself on his arm, and tell everyone to look at him. This happened everyday, really. And after a few weeks, #1 started hiding it in his closet under stuff. But #2 would always find it, and continue the same stupid joke. Even though #1 told him to please stop. Here is where you might want to turn away. So one day I came over to #1 house and he said wanna see something. All of us were wondering what. And then #2 comes in searches for the Machete (#1 says please stop playing with that) and proceeds with his daily routine and with the first swipe #2 yells, above him arm a line of crimson appears. It wasn't deep but it was long. #1 admits to the crime and said that he sharpened it to teach him to not play with it anymore. And he never did. FHL

| OMG, LOL in a way, but WTF Marii!! D: You should know better!! Yes we need a nanny on this hoodlum.. Nanny Fran!! Please come help!! XD WOW MIJO O____O I like the story, but man, its aggravating and sad in a way for the stubborn that #2 was O__O I hope he's ok today, and hopefully isn't in a hospital every other month <_< And for #1, he is very responsible and a role-model, so please give him a pat in the back Von! How about you don't stretch the shoe, but squish your feet!! How's that sound, eh? |

| nono mijo XD it's not my first pair of boots. Living in canada, we HAVE to have boots. It's snowing like mad in winter. It's my first online purchase for boots XD. I don't think I'm going to buy shoes again online since we can't try them >< and you friend #1 is so cool XD UPDATE ON ZE BOOTS: I brought just them to the shoe-repair shop today, dropped the boots there they said it will be ready in 2-3 days so I shall see how they can stretch it XD @ Marii: no they're cowboy boots sort of really solid, so it would hurt my feet more than stretch the boots. But hopefully with the stretching, they will be better @ Beto: XD my feet are already small.. if I squish them, I doubt I'd be able to balance my body on them XD I'll be a giant on smurf feet LOL not exactly, but you get the idea!
