Oh yes!!! How could I forget "O Brother Where Art Thou?"
Evil and I must have watched that at least half a dozen times. Highly recommended! George Clooney is a riot!
Please watch it if you get the chance!

OH! movie topic! I sense that I will be a large contributor from now on since I've found out about this thread.
About 3 weeks ago, I saw "Just go with it", a romantic comedy with Adam Sandler, Jennifer Aniston and, to my pleasant surprise, Nicole Kidman. It is about a plastic surgeon having to lie and invent a "bad mariage" because it seems to attract women, but one day he meets a girl he is actually truly interested in and he tries to fish out of his "lying" act. This is one of those feel-good entertainment movies where you walk out with a smile and light-heartedness. I give it a 8/10, I like feeling good.

About 2 weeks ago, I went to see "I am Number four". There are a species on another planet that is almost extinct due to extermination by another type of aliens. They sent 9 of their remaining children to live on earth (sort of like superman), these nine children have super powers too. However, they are being chased and killed one-by-one by another species of aliens who have come to earth to finish the job. Pretty good movie. Cute actor and actresses. I'd give about 7.5/10 rating.

Last week, I saw "Battle: Los Angelos". It is about an alien invasion on earth and our marines battling them. basically shows more of the army and war-combat aspect than the sci-fi alien aspect. We don't see the aliens much. But the story shows more of the war spirit and army organization. Lots of POWS and BOOMS, my ears hurt near the end of the movie. I give it a 6/10. I cried during the movie, there is an emotionnal part of it.

This week, I went to see "Beastly" which has Vanessa Hudsen (from Disney High school musical) and the same male actor from "I am number four". It was classified under "Horror" movies in the cinema websites, but I think it was more of a modern render of Disney's "Beauty and the Beast". To my surprise, Mary-Kate Oslen starred in it. Acting was only okay, the script was poor. It's got a weird "cheesy", "not natural" Twilight-type romance lines in it. The type of lines that would sound good in a book, but weird in a movie. Maybe the acting was just not good enough for it. Anyhow, this is more of a romance than Horror movie to me. And I like romance, so I give it at least 6.5/10, other wise maybe more of a 5/10.
Yes, I often go to the theaters >_> This is why I miss Tuesday practices sometimes because Tuesday are cheap movie days

Well I watch a lot of movies on Netflix lately. I love it, I love it, I love it! even if I don't look like I am online, I am probably on PSN watching Netflix. I sometimes use my alternate account that has no one on my FL so I dont get the pop-ups during the movie.
Lately I have been in a weird British/historical movie phase. I think I may have also watched all movies featuring Keira Knightly in a corset. LOL.
I have watched in the last month.
The Young Victoria (watched it twice cause I liked it so much) The Duchess (Keira Knightly) Lady Jane (Helena Bonham Carter ((briefly topless)) Yikes!) Jane Eyre (BBC Masterpiece Theatre series) Wives and Daughters (another BBC series..may watch again cause I really liked it) The Diary of Anne Frank (most current remake) The End of the Affair (Julianne Moore --very romantic but she is naked alot!) Nicholas Nickleby by Charles Dickens (I may have watched this one twice too..lol) Spring 1941 (holocaust related but unlike I ever imagined, really really good)
PS3 had a free rental of Stranger than Fiction (Will Ferrel) and this might be one of my fav movies.
oh yeah...then evil forced me to watch Jackass 3.

LOL Mari. That's wicked awesome.
Pam, I enjoy your list of movies. Especially the last one...lmao.
I am weird...I think I've seen every version of Alice In Wonderland known to man. It's always been my favorite book and since I was young, I started watching any version I could get my hands on. Not a fan of the newest one with Johnny Depp...I think he is overrated. But I have this one version where the whole movie dialogue takes place in Alice's head...it's so weird and creepy. I love it <3

Do you also read books on Alice in the Wonderland? I heard there is a good book on the Queen of Hearts character in it by the same author who wrote a book on the witch of the West from the Wizard of Oz. Maybe pammy has read it

The Author you are referring to is Gregory Maquire. He wrote "Wicked" and lots of other remakes. I haven't read the one about the Queen of Hearts yet. But I have read "Son of a Witch (wicked part 2), Mirror Mirror (Snow White) and Confessions of an ugly stepsister (Cinderella). I told myself I have to read the 20 plus books I brought home from the public library (they were giving books away) before I can buy anymore!

Oh cool! Ive read those ones and now I MUST get my hands on the Queen Of Hearts one!! @.@ I have read any Alice book I can find and have several versions. I have a cool one that is the original story called Alices Adventures Underground. This one is different because it is a cooy if the original manuscript and is handwritten. An interesting read!

Today, I saw Source Code. Have you seen Inception? The sci-fi-ness of this movie resembles to that of Inception. Source code shows a possible alternate reality, mixed in with quantum physics (what geek would not like that?). Definitely made my head think after the movie! Worth watching! I give it a 8/10!

Saw a documentary today on netflix instant watch called Paul McCartney Is Dead. If you are a Beatles fan it was interesting. I like The Beatles but my wife loves them so we watched it. It was one of those movies where you want to believe it because all of their evidence is so valid sounding. Interesting watch!!
