| I am such a foodie Von. I want to try to be a food writer as a hobby if I can. I can't wait for you to share with me a canadian or chinese recipe. (hint-hint) Maybe I can make poutine? PS. Jammy didn't you say you were allergic to peanuts? Poopity. Maybe you can substitute almond butter for the peanut butter? | |

| Just for your interest, Pam, this is an English Afternoon Tea. I have no idea why, but a lot of my foreign friends want to know what this is. To be honest, its a very posh thing to have, and its only for special occasions. We had sandwiches (salmon, cucumber, tuna, chicken and cranberry, egg), a scone with clotted cream, some banana cake, a choux pastry bun with cream and chocolate, and a slice of carrot cake. And a pot of tea, of course. Yum! | |

| I like Jam, but it wasn't on the menu when I was there. Jam... mmmm yum. My favourite jam is either raspberry or damson. And to answer your question, Pam, clotted cream is..... mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! Its pretty much full fat cream which has been stired and stired until it's ALMOST butter, but not quite. | |

| And I've found a recipe and technique for making AWESOME scones! Home made ones are about 2000% better than any shop-bought ones. | |

| Here is Paul Hollywood's scones recipe. He's a master-baker, and these are master scones. :-) The weight of flour and amount of water you use is pretty CRITICAL. If you follow this recipe exactly, they'll come out perfect! http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/paul_hollywoods_scones_70005 | |

| We had horrible storms with a Tornado warning for our town last night. we picked up Lucky Kitty and ran to our stairwell till the alert was over. (around 9:30 PM) This morning I woke up and looked at the window. In the light of day I could see the whole 1st layer of the roof had been torn off of our building! As I type this there are 7 men hammering away to fix it! Then my boss called me to say the power was completely out at our office building! So no work today! So what will I be doing with my free day off? Making Thai Sweet Sticky Rice and German Bavarian Pretzels! | |

It was! and Lucky Kitty was so freaked out! I kept trying to grab her and she kept darting away! She was very skittish with all the thunder and lightening! I felt like Dorothy trying to catch Toto! Then I yelled to Evil to go grab her, because she always comes to him when he calls. | |

| LMFAO Glitchy. That made my day XD So many delicious recipes, Pam XD Problem is, you need a flour that is very hard to find... if you look in a Latino/Venezuelan Market though, you should find it. If you want to, it looks like this (even if the recipe says normal flour, just use this flour instead, lol) ----------------------- Ok, first of, arepas. Make them, and put whatever you want in them. Basically a sandwich, just better. Arepas are eaten almost regularly, they're basically what is waffles and toast to you. http://www.whats4eats.com/breads/arepas-recipe (most if not all people make them in an arepa maker, but you can make it this way too) Empandas! Arrrrrrriba! Basically same as arepas, you can put whatever you like in there. Though cheese, chicken, and fish are the most popular. By the way, the ones that come out looking like the one in the picture are, IMHO, the best ones. All the other ones, specially the highly decorated ones, tend to taste a bit stale. http://www.whats4eats.com/meats/empanadas-recipe These are cachapas. They are not widely known, but they are delicious. Basically a soft corn pancake, you can spread cheese on top of it, put pernil (Venezuelan pork), or put a slice of white cheese on top of it. http://www.whats4eats.com/breads/cachapas-recipe Hope you can make these, Pam | |

| All those pictures of Venezuelan food you posted looks sooooooo good. I wanna try the cachapas and the arepas. I wonder if they have them in Mexican restaurants here? I'm not sure if there's any Venezuelan restaurant in Vancouver. <__< I'm so hungry for them right now. | |
