"Adults" ... pfft!

I hate it when my parents "belittle" my exams. They don't understand how stressed I am when comes time for exams. They don't understand how important they are, and how difficult exams are in university.

They always schedule family events, outings without asking if it's alright for me to be going out on weekend get-away the night before my exams or something. Or if they do ask me and I refuse, they say "oh it's just an exam!! you'll do good ANYWAYS, you always do!". News flash: if I don't have time to study the material, I know jack-squat about what the exam is going to be on, how am I supposed to do good then?! Huh?

So now that I'm at the age where I work and I go to school. I see that work isn't all that easy either. There is a whole different stress associated with work, work interviews, work relations, bosses, etc. I still think school is more difficult, maybe I am just growing tired of exam rushes every 2-weeks. But when I think about it.. exams are important, I mean if I fail, then I don't get my degree, then I don't get my job, then I will be jobless, and then.. well, lots of consequences, right?

So there. Just a random thread about "adults" "understimating" what "we" do.

It's funny that I refer to "them" as "adults", I am an adult myself as well XD but I guess everyone who plays fp has a little child inside of them Wink

Oh Von, if you were my kid I'd let you study and give you big notice that we need to do a family event. But you know what, I bet you can probably handle this stress now, then later when your old and thinking "I don't need this stress, I've already earn my dues." Just keep pushing girl. Soon you will have that job. And out of the house, and Queen of your own castle. And you will know what it was like so (if) when you have kids, you will let them study. Because you've been there. GOOOOOOO VON!

I admire your commitment to your exams and doing your very best Von! Besides as a patient, I would hope that my pharmacist is the one that got straight A's, not straight C's!

Your parents need to understand that the reason YOU DO so well on your exams is because of your focus and willingness to put in all that time and energy on studying!

Could you maybe post a large calender on the fridge that has your exam dates and maybe the days before it as "black-out" dates. That way they will know in advance that if a family outing is scheduled, chances are Vonnie-cakes will probably decline?

my parents are just the opposite; i study study and study. when im done, and rdy to have a small break or a moment of relaxation, they just tell me to study, no matter how many times i tell them i already did, and im having a break now. they should just let me do my own stuff how i want to. Smile

Pam that's a good idea XD except I have exams so often, hmm.. the calendar would be filled with my writing, like my agenda XD!
