| I made this thread to inform everybody that our beloved Joker Echidna09 passed away. As some of you might know, his real name was David Warren. He had been struggling with cancer for a long time. Went in and out the hospital. Unfortunately, at the end of 2012, he passed away. May he rest in peace. Even though he has been sick for a long time, he always kept a positive attitude. Such a sweet and kind young man. I am really sad to hear this news. | |

| Thank you hobs for updating everyone that their fellow Joker clanmate and friend has died. For those of us that played with and knew [JKR] echi, he was genuine, kind, compassionate and truly an inspiration. Even while battling cancer, he lived his life with courage and grace. May you rest in peace Dave. God Bless.

| He was truly one of the nicest people you could ever meet. You would never have suspected anything was wrong, because he was so kind and gracious.
He was upfront and honest about his battle with cancer. He was very proud of the fact that he had lobbied in Great Britain for a specific therapy to be approved and to help so many cancer patients.
His participation started to twindle as his cancer and treatments started to tire him more and more.
I would reach out to him via PM and PSN message to check in from time to time and to let him know I was thinking of him.
I think the doctors must have told him, they had done all they could do. It looks like he married his fiance in August and by November he lost his battle.

| I don't know if I ever played with him in my earlier FP times, but it's really sad to lose a friend in any circumstance. I know the Burnout community lost a friend that was dear to them as well and they got together one last time to play in his memory.
I don't know if it's a good idea or not, but it could remind everyone that FP isn't just about playing games. It's also about friendships.

| R.I.P David, he was one of the most awesome people in the world and i'm glad that i made a friend like him in my lifetime.. Things like this just push me to help the battle against cancer even more by doing all that i can.. I'm registering for the 10k Race for Life again in a few months, hopefully the money i can raise can fund more research into wiping cancer completely from the face of the earth once and for all. | |

| Very sad news, David (Echidna) was a true Warrior Battling Cancer and like Pam wrote: You would never have suspected anything was wrong, because he was so kind and gracious. Rest in Peace, David. One day we'll be playing together again | |

James, I hope there will be a way I can contribute to your fundraising online. I would be honored to make a donation to your event in [JKR] Echidna09's honor.

I don't know if it's a good idea or not, but it could remind everyone that FP isn't just about playing games. It's also about friendships. I will be organizing an event to remember Dave as well. His birthday was July 5th. So maybe we can do it then? Unless Jokers would like to do something before then? Of course we can play a game of FP. (He loved mage) But he also was very involved in lbp, and created levels. I would kind of like for us to play the levels he worked so hard on. He had asked hobs for help in creating one that was about his battle with cancer. I deeply regret I did not make the scones recipe he gave me in my "Around the World" thread, where I visit all my Jokers via recipes. I plan to make the scones and create a whole English afternoon tea in his memory. Thanks everyone.

| I met Echi online, somewhere in 2010. At that time he was working on a level in LittleBig Planet about his life. He asked me to help him decorate it. So when I entered his level and looked around, I noticed it was about fighting cancer. So while we were making decorations, he told me about him being sick for a long time now and all the medical stuff he had gone through. The result of his lbp work is a very creative way of showing people how it feels to battle cancer and what it does to you. In honor of David, I would invite everyone to play his level. Just to get a little glimps of his life. Level: an unhappy diagnosis! Can be played with either lbp or lbp2 | |

| When you register for the race for life, you automatically get an online link so people can donate.. I'll definitely post the link and i'll be more than happy to participate in any event being held In his honour. One of my friend's dad passed away a week ago due to Cancer too so my T-Shirt will read.. "For all those who we have loved and lost.. Gramps, David and Haydn"

| Never knew him, but he sounds wonderful. I'm sorry for the loss, JKRs.
We could always set up two memorial games, one now and one to play on his birthday.

| It's fine if you announce it with enough time. Are you planning joker-only or making it open for other friends?
Either way, you could make a post about him on cakelair. They should hopefully maintain a reverent demeanor.

| This news is so very sad. I only managed to play with Echi a few times, but I remember him as a great player and a very nice person. I think it would be a good idea to do at least one match open to the public so that his many friends have a chance to honor him in this way. | |
