10 years 9/11 91110

Today its 10 years ago since the tragedy of 9/11.
The whole world was watching, and maybe you still remember where you were when you heard/saw the news?
All victims and family and friends of victims are always in our hearts and we will never forget.
All heroes that died that day will too always bee remembered. Also the heroes who didnt die that day will always be heroes.
Since that day the world is not the same anymore...

Tell us your story or thoughts of 9/11 to remember all who were involved in that tragedy.

This is my story of 9/11

I was coming home from school and threw myself on the couch while turning on the tv.

I saw a tower surrounded with smoke and i changed the channel, not knowing what it was at first.

But on all channels there was that tower. It took a few minuts for me to process what was happening.

So for the next hours/days i was just in shock watching the tv. I saw the 2nd plane flying into the

other tower and i was in total shock. I was home alone, so I called my parents and my boyfriend (who i

lived with at that time), just to avoid feeling alone. What stayed with me the most were

the people jumping out of the tower to avoid burning to death. That was a horrible sight. I just couldnt stop

thinking about those people trapped and dying and I was just sitting save on my couch watching tv.

It was hard to just watch it, cause when that would happen in my own town i would have gone outside

and help...i'm not someone who can just sit there and do nothing. But in this case all i could do

was say a prayer for everyone involved....

Yes my thoughts go out to any one lost or effected by 9/11.

I was going to community college at the time. i woke up early and never put on the tv. I went to school to see barely no cars in the parking lots. Went to my first class and then found out what happened from my teacher. She said that all classes are excused because of the attacks. Went to the lobby where there was a big tv and pretty much everyone was there watching the news. I was shocked and confused. I guess im lucky I didnt know any1 that died but its still sad. Pretty much every americans life has changed because of 9/11 though. Things just aint the same.

A sad day indeed

I was working as a sous chef at ABBOTT Labs.
I was with a friend getting breakfast ready for the building.
We were laughing at a Joke that was that was made about something random. When a Employee lady said "How could you be laughing at a time like this!" She told us what she had meant, and we all walked to the big screen in the eating area. Just before the 2nd plane hit.

I was heading to work and listening to the radio as they reported what was happening in NYC. I remember parking my car and getting out and looking up into the sky. Where I was (in the middle of the country) was so serene and beautiful. It felt like time was standing still. I couldn't wrap my brain around the terrorist strike that was happening on the east coast.

When I got to my desk, everyone was in shock, and huddled around any radios or tvs they could find. My manager found me and said, start calling all your government contacts so we can send medical supplies. I was in charge of all Department of Defense orders that came through my company. The idea was to get a jump start on any medical supplies that needed to go to NYC or that the Government would be ordering for our Troops if we declared war.

I called contact after contact...some lines were completely busy, others never picked up. A few people simply sounded like they were in shock and didnt know how to proceed.

My Company loaded 2 Semi trucks full of medical supplies and equipment we thought would be necessary to help the victims in NYC. We were still optimistic at that time that survivors would be pulled from the wreckage. Since all the planes were grounded, and we were unsure when, where and if another attack would occur, we sent the Semi's with armed protection across the country.

It took every bit of willpower I had not to follow the caravan in my car. I felt so helpless and wanted to do more. In the end all I could do was pray.

Living in NY at the time(upstate, around 4 hrs drive from the city), I was still in High School, I went into English class and my teacher looked really sad and then they made an announcement on the overhead a few minutes into class of what happened. My teacher than asked if any students had family/friends they knew of in the city and if they needed to leave class and call/go home. About half my class left, and the rest of us just sat there uncertain of what to do. It was obvious that none of the teachers felt like teaching that day,and none of the students could really focus on anything anyway(seemed like the majority of the school left because most everyone knew someone in the city). There were some discussions about the situation, speculations of why or how. Not sure why they didn't just let us all go home early that day. It seemed like the longest day of school.

I remember getting home and turning on the tv to finally see what happened myself and thats kinda when it really sunk in that it actually happened.

I don't remember a lot but I was in High school (9th grade) at the time and it was around 9pm in the Phillipines. My sister, who is 4 years older than me, called me to go watch what's happening on the news. She was in shock. I was confused of what's going on at the time so I keep asking her questions.

We have school the next day and everyone cannot focus on what the teacher is discussing. Some of my classmates have family from NY and their family is still waiting to hear from them. What a sad day in history.

I was finishing my work day. It was Tuesday evening, and a couple of friends were ready to meet with me for a little farewell party. The thing was that I was ready to fly back home, back to States. I've had tickets for 9/17.

And just when I was ready to leave (it was 5:08 PM my time, I remember that time exactly, becasue my life changed after that), my friend called me from States. He was crying. He told me his wife went to work early that day. And he can't reach her. He was asking me about help, crying about it...

I've canceled the party that day and rushed back home to watch CNN. Next day I've cancelled my flight and decided to stay in Ukraine for one more year.
